Several employees have additional questions on the use of the UC Berkeley Richmond Field Station parking lot that is now available to Lab employees. If you are interested in parking at the lot:
- Email commute@lbl.gov with your name, and the make, model, color, and license plate number of your vehicle
- Hang your Lab parking placard from the rear view window when you park there
For $1.50 each way, you can ride the UC Bear Transit shuttle from the lot to the Berkeley BART station. There are morning shuttles from the field station, at 6:57 and 8:30, and several afternoon shuttles for your return.
You can also use the lot as a park and ride spot. Several Lab employees can meet at the Richmond Field Station lot, park, hang your Lab placard, and then one drives the group to the Lab. This saves everyone $3 in roundtrip shuttle fare, provides more flexibility on timing, and gives you one of the Lab’s coveted carpool spots on the hill. If you don’t qualify for an LBNL parking permit, send an email to commute@lbl.gov to make arrangements so you park at the Richmond Field Station.
The lot is routinely patrolled by UC Berkeley police.
