The Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District (AC Transit) has been in operation since 1960 and is the largest public bus-only system in California, and the 3rd largest bus-only transit agency in the United States. Based out of Oakland, California and multiple facilities throughout Alameda and Contra-Costa counties, AC Transit makes bus service available to 1.5 million East Bay residents that populate our 364 square mile service area
Soltrans
Solano County Transit (SolTrans) has been the public transportation provider for south Solano County since July 2011. SolTrans provides local and Solano Express fixed routes and complementary paratransit. The agency is a Joint Powers Authority (JPA) that is governed by a six-member Board of Directors, composed of two representatives from the cities of Benicia and Vallejo, We provide safe, reliable, courteous, efficient, and accessible transportation services that effectively link people, jobs, and communities.
Train
BART
Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) connects the San Francisco Peninsula with communities in the East Bay and South Bay. BART service currently extends as far as Millbrae, Richmond, Antioch, Dublin/Pleasanton, and Berryessa/North San José.
Amtrak Capitol Corridor
The Capitol Corridor is an intercity passenger train system that provides a convenient alternative to traveling along the congested I-80, I-680 and I-880 freeways by operating fast, reliable and affordable intercity rail service to 18 stations in 8 Northern California counties: Placer, Sacramento, Yolo, Solano, Contra Costa, Alameda, San Francisco, and Santa Clara, a 170-mile rail corridor. An extensive, dedicated motorcoach network provides bus connections to serve the second-largest urban service area in the Western United States.
Caltrain
Caltrain provides commuter rail service along the San Francisco Peninsula, through the South Bay to San Jose and Gilroy. It provides a customer-focused rail system offering safe, reliable, accessible, and sustainable transportation service that enhances quality of life for all.

The Alameda County Guaranteed Ride Home Program does just what it says: guarantees you a free ride home from work when you have an emergency and you have made the effort to avoid commuting alone in your car. You can feel comfortable taking the bus, train, or ferry, carpooling, vanpooling, walking, or bicycling to work, knowing that you will have a ride home in the case of a qualifying unexpected circumstance that disrupts your commute home.Available to those who live within 100 miles of their Alameda County worksite.
