Bike East Bay is holding a bike safety workshop at the Lab on Wednesday, Nov. 13 from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. in Building 70A room 3377. This event is sponsored by the Lab’s Transportation Advisory Committee and Traffic & Pedestrian Safety Committee.
The class aims to share best practices for motor vehicle drivers sharing the road with bikers. Topics include: how to avoid the most common mistakes that lead to car/bike crashes, visibility, and what the rules of right-of-way are for cars and bikes sharing the road. With the recent time change, more riders will be in the dark on the afternoon commute, and it is difficult to be seen by drivers. Learn about bike safety from a driver’s point of view. The workshop is good for both bicyclists and motorists.
There will also be a shuttle outside the building where you can practice putting a bike onto and off of a bike rack.
No reservation is required. You can also participate via Zoom. Add the event to your calendar.
