Representatives from Scoop, a dynamic ridesharing app, will be at the Lab from Jan. 14 through Jan. 24 providing information about a new, convenient option for getting to work.
Those with an LBL email address can sign up for Scoop, and the app will match riders and drivers. Since the app is dynamic, you can have different pairings for the morning and afternoon commute. You can use the service occasionally, such as when the car is in the shop, but the hope is that Scoop becomes a habit and a consistent alternative to driving alone.
There are also three benefits of Scoop to the Lab and to the community:
- Lowering CO2 emissions with fewer solo drivers
- Improving the local neighborhoods with fewer vehicles on the streets
- Reducing the strain on the Lab’s parking resources
Scoop is one of the most cost-effective ways to get to work. Carpoolers share the cost of the commute; while riders pay a nominal fee, drivers are reimbursed directly in the app after every trip.
See the daily schedule of where the Scoop representatives will be available.
