Centennial Drive between the Lawrence Hall of Science and the Lab’s Strawberry Gate continues to be closed in both directions on weekdays from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. for tree removal. Tree removal on this stretch of road will continue this week, with a slight possibility it continues into the week of Jan. 13.
During this phase, Grizzly Gate will be open for entrance to the Lab between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. and will be available for exiting after 3:30 p.m.
Lab shuttles to the LHS parking lots will operate from 7 to 9 a.m., and from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. There may be delays to the Orange and Rockridge routes due to congestion on the lower section of Centennial.
The last phase of the tree removal project will be from Strawberry Gate to the Memorial Coliseum. It is anticipated that single-lane traffic will be allowed in this phase, but that will be subject to change based on weather and other conditions. The start date of that phase is not set, but it will follow the conclusion of the current phase.
