Bike Parking Guidelines & Details
Lab policy prohibits bikes being parked in pathways or in areas that could compromise access to life-saving or emergency equipment (such as fire hydrants, fire alarms, and emergency rescue boxes). They are also prohibited inside building corridors, stairwells, entrances and exits.
LBNL Bike Racks:
Use the LBNL Commute Parking Map to find the closest bike rack.
Offices:
Bikes can be parked in your office, provided your supervisor and officemates approve. A dedicated bike hook can be used to save space, but you must contact facilities to have it installed.
Downtown Berkeley Bike Parking:
If you don’t want to ride up the Hill, there is free bike parking in Berkeley. The bike station in the Center Street garage at 2023 Center Street offers free, secure valet parking. From there it is a two block walk to the Lab shuttle stop at Shattuck and Addison.
Ashby BART Bike Parking:
The Ashby BART station, now a stop on the Potter Street route, also offers 24-hour controlled access bike parking at a cost of three to five cents an hour.
Bike Repair Fix-It Stations

The Lab has three bicycle Fix-It stations. They are located in the bike parking area near Building 65, The Lab has three bicycle Fix-It stations. They are located in the bike parking area near Building 65, between buildings 30 and 33, and by Building 66. The Fix-It stations have basic bicycle repair tools and an air pump.

Showers
Shower facilities are available at 20 different Lab buildings. Check out the Berkeley Lab Interactive Map for shower locations by clicking on the “layers” button in the bottom left hand corner and choosing “showers.”
